Customized Massage Treatment
- Exactly what areas are addressed in a Customized Massage? Your therapist will recommend the best course of treatment and areas to concentrate on based on the reason for your visit and pre-session consult. Swedish Relaxation and/or Deep Tissue techniques will be used and could include the scalp, face, neck, upper chest, shoulders, back, hips, legs, feet, abdomen, arms and hands. You may specify any areas in which you would prefer no massage or maybe you want the therapist to focus on your upper body for the entire length of the massage session. You will be in control at all times. (During COVID-19, modifications will be made for client/therapist safety).
- Do I need to undress fully? It is recommended to remove all articles of clothing and jewelry to experience an effective full body massage with an even flow. However, you are encouraged to undress to your comfort level and the massage will be adjusted accordingly. During your massage session, professional draping techniques are used to ensure your comfort. Your modesty will be respected at all times. Only the area that is being treated will be undraped and then re-draped before moving on to the next area.
- What if I'm embarrassed about my body? Unfortunately this is one of the most common reasons people give when asked why they never received a therapeutic massage. Your massage therapist is a professional who has seen bodies in every size and shape, from young to elderly and is not there to pass judgment, but only to provide a caring touch that can help relieve some of the symptoms of everyday stress, muscle tension and overuse injuries.
- Are deep tissue massage techniques painful? Massage should not be extremely painful. The techniques used are designed to get through superficial muscles in order to address the deeper tissue which may be the source of muscle soreness or pain. Clients often state that it is a "hurts so good" feeling, similar to muscle tenderness experienced after a good exercise workout. Therapist/Client communication is key. While using these therapeutic techniques, the therapist will ask how the pressure feels to you and will work within your comfort level. It is the responsibility of the client to communicate when the pressure or technique is not within their tolerance.
Warm Himalayan Salt Stone Massage
- How is a Salt Stone massage different from a Hot Stone massage? Let's start by addressing the similarities: both provide heat to tight muscles which helps to loosen them more quickly. Both provide a soothing deep relaxation effect that promotes better sleep. Salt stones, however, contain essential trace minerals that nourish the body and replenishes skin as it lightly exfoliates leaving the skin smoother, reducing signs of aging.
Traditional Thai Massage
- Do I need to be extremely flexible for a Thai Massage session? No, you do not need to be unusually flexible. The purpose of treatment is to help increase your flexibility through a series of warm-ups, gentle palm and thumb pressure, rocking, and gentle stretches. You will be in a completely relaxed state. Therapist does all the work, not the recipient. A skilled Thai Practitioner can feel your range of motion and knows just how far to take you through various postures, moving and positioning you safely within your comfort level. (During COVID-19, modifications will be made for client/therapist safety).
- How should I prepare myself for a Thai Therapy session? Wear comfortable clothing that will move with you, such as light-weight slacks, sweats or cotton materials. Long pants are preferred. It is recommended that you remove jewelry. Avoid having a large meal just prior to treatment. For further details, call (262) 515-7035.
- How often should I receive Thai massage treatments? For optimal soft tissue and joint health, a monthly 90-minute treatment is recommended. Depending on your specific needs, your therapist may recommend other therapies or more frequent visits to help address problem areas.
- Is Thai Massage for everyone? Not all forms of massage therapy and bodywork are suitable for people with particular health conditions. It is always best to inform your primary healthcare provider that you plan to receive massage therapy. Modifications can often be made to allow for a safe and therapeutic treatment. If you have questions or concerns before scheduling a treatment, please call 262-515-7035.
General Q & A's
- Do you offer "couples" massage? Only individual sessions are offered back-to-back. However, while one person is in session, there is a tranquil waiting area where you can relax. Alternately, while waiting your turn, you can step outside and spend an hour exploring downtown Lake Geneva. The lake is just one block south; many restaurants and shopping opportunities are also available. The hour goes by fast (hopefully not for the recipient).
- What can Massage Therapy and Bodywork do for me? A massage therapy or bodywork session can be a truly healing experience often relieving aches and pains associated with stiff joints, muscle tension and soreness. Treatment can help increase your flexibility and provide stress reduction and an overall sense of well-being.
- Why do I need to fill out a health intake form? A health history lets your massage therapist decide what type of positions, techniques and pressure to use or areas to avoid, providing the best and safest treatment. The massage session will be modified to your individual needs. Please let your therapist know if there are any changes to this initial information.
- What forms of payment do you accept? VISA, MasterCard, DISCOVER and American Express are accepted. You may also make payment by cash or check. (Returned Check Fee $36). Optional online payment is preferred. Payment request will be sent via email or text prior to appointment for secure contactless prepayment of appointment session. Simply ignore, if you rather pay in office. Refund may be issued if appointment cancelled due to illness or emergency.
